New Reach, Inc. is a multi-service agency providing a continuum of housing and stabilization services to families in need since 1990. The SHP AIDS program operates 28 units of supportive housing to homeless or at risk families with HIV/AIDS. Six of the units are part of a New Reach owned supportive housing property, while the remaining 22 are scattered throughout New Haven and the surrounding towns. Families consists of any adult(s) with a dependent child living in the home. Services include intensive in-home case management services, clinical services (substance abuse / mental health), food, clothing, furniture and evening and weekend phone coverage.
New Reach offers case management services, advocacy, substance abuse counseling, support groups, housing location, and landlord/tenant mediation.
The scattered site program serves families living with HIV/AIDS. The primary resident must be living with symptomatic HIV disease or an AIDS diagnosis. Active substance abusers must enter into a treatment program prior to admission. The agency primarily serves families from the Greater New Haven area.
