Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy Housing and Shelter Corporation operates a wide variety of housing options for individuals in need. Specific to HIV/AIDS housing, Mercy operates a 44 unit scattered site subsidized apartment program, a nine bed group residence program, and a short-term emergency placement for adults.
In the Greater Hartford area services include: a day shelter, food pantry, meals program, intensive case management, supportive housing, scattered-site units, residential programs, a group home, and emergency short-term housing. In the Greater Middletown area, services include: a residential living program, emergency short-term housing, scattered site supportive housing, and permanent scattered site supportive housing provided through an inter-agency collaborative PILOTS project.
Individuals living with HIV/AIDS and their families who are homeless or at risk, who may have a current or past substance abuse or mental health illness. These programs primarily serve individuals from the Greater Hartford or Middletown area.
