Independence Northwest operates the Transitional Housing Opportunities Program, with 31 scattered site subsidies - 21 in the Greater Waterbury/Upper Naugatuck Valley and 10 in Litchfield County.
The scattered site program offers advocacy, case management, emergency assistance funds, independent living skills training, peer counseling, assistive technology services, and referrals for permanent housing, medical care, mental health care, substance abuse treatment, parenting/children’s needs, legal services and vocational training/rehabilitation.
Independence Northwest offers a broad range of services for people with all disabilities. The scattered site program serves individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS from the Greater Waterbury and upper Naugatuck Valley regions of Connecticut. Those with a history of substance abuse must be clean and sober for at least 6 months and preferably one year prior to admission.
